Tritone Hotel is near Quirinale Palace
Tourist information
Piazza del Quirinale, at the southeast end of Via del Quirinale, occupies the summit of the tallest of Rome seven hills.
Took its name from Quirinus, the Sabine name of the God Mars who was venerated on this hill. The President of the Republic officially resides in the imposing Palazzo del Quirinale.
A Baroque fountain(a granite basin which originally came from the Roman Forum) was moved to the square in 1818 to support the obelisk from the Mausoleum of Augustus and the Statue of the heavenly twins, Castor and Pollux.
On the right side you can admire the majestic Palace of the Consulta and the church of Sant'Andrea del Quirinale, Bernini's favourite work and to the far right, San Carlino, a very small church.
